750sf x $75/sf = $56,000 construction cost.
You charge 6% to 8% for a house addition.
That means you ask for $3375 to $4480 for doing a set of construction documents.
Thats the math...go figure the rest and adjust to the budget the owner wants to spend on the addition.
So if you can work at the same rate ($40/hr) you will be completing this set of documents in 112 hours maximum.....right? IF you can work faster, lets say you finish everything in 80 hours, then you have made $56/hour... or you may have blown the budget and you will then be working for less per hour.  |
