SENIOR ARCHITECT II

Position located in Frederick, Maryland. I am looking for a registered architect in any state with any kind of fossil or nuclear power plant design, layout experience. Plans and conducts work within a global business unit requiring judgment
in the independent evaluation, selection, application, adaptation and
modification of standard architectural techniques, procedures and
criteria. Devises new approaches to solving problems encountered.

Plans and coordinates independent work requiring substantial judgment
and experience in the application and adaptation of architectural
techniques. Devises new approaches to technical problems encountered.
Provides technical direction and assigns work to subordinate senior
architects, architects, designers and drafters for specific tasks or
project subgroups.
Broad working knowledge of precedents in the specialty area, the
principles and practices of related technical areas, and with
coordinating work with other technical disciplines.
Knowledgeable of and performs standard discipline architectural
activities on projects of relatively small size and complexity within
the business line with minimal technical oversight.
Coordinates technical issues with other departments on projects
including contractibility requirements and reviews.


A senior architect position in the Engineering Department, assigned to
one of many fossil/nuclear power plant projects, performing the duties
of a lead architect/supervisor while working on and managing a group of
architects involved in design of power plant buildings. The position is
based in Frederick, Maryland.

The candidate will be involved in architectural design of fossil/nuclear
power projects. Perform independent evaluation selection, application,
adaptation and modification of standard architectural techniques,
procedures and criteria.

Understands standard architectural work planning, scheduling and
Conducts independent work requiring judgement in the application of
design techniques. Provides technical direction and assigns work to
architects and drafters who assist on specific assignments. Reviews and
checks designs prepared by his group and subcontrators. Communicates
compelx technical issues and recommends solutions to team members and
others. Prepares code analysis and ensures compliance to applicable
codes. Coordinates work with other engineering groups such as
Mechanical, Civil, Plant Design, Electrical, Control Systems,
Construction and Procurement. Develops key architectural drawings,
details and specifications.

Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Architecture.
Professional architectural registration.
Must have the right to work and remain in the USA.

Minimum Qualifications:
Atleast 7 years experience in design, layout and detailing of large
industrial buildings or power plant buildings.
At least 12 years experience in the large industrial buildings in the
job related responsibilities outlined above.
Up-to-date knowledge of National Building Codes, ADA, Life Safety Codes
and Industry Regulations and Standards.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Microstation and CADD.
Atleast 5 years experience in supervision, planning and scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree in Architecture.
Sound knowledge of architectural materials, construction details and
techniques.
Experience in power projects.
Demonstrated skills in oral and written communications in English.
Knowledge and experience in 3D modeling.
Experience in preparation of architectural specifications.
