Greetings,
Before I begin I'd just like to introduce myself to the community as I'm new here. I'm a 3rd Year architecture student at Ryerson University in Toronto...eh, and currently looking for some inspiration on my next design proposal. So hi everyone from your friendly neighbour up north and I'd also like to say that your elections are much more interesting lol.
Anyways... let's get a move on. SKIP THE NEXT TWO PARAGRAPHS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE BRIEFED.
I'll try and keep this brief. The first phase is create a schematic design for an exhibition gallery/mixed use for world renown sculptor Henry Moore. The location will be located on a precinct that currently is a barren industrial area located on the waterfront. This is, in real life, a main focus of the waterfront revival that our school is heavily committed in our studies.
This area of the waterfront will provide a public space that is vibrant with activities and pedestrian friendly, with public park corridors at the foot of major streets with views out to the lake. The only master plans I can relate this too would be similar to the Hudson Yards by Steven Holl (you can find more of that at stevenholl.com).
So the site is located along the main park corridor 100x350 feet. The main floor will be heavily focused on public engagement and should be a day-and-night facility.
QUESTION:
I'm looking for architects, buildings I should look at that focus on urban revival, sustainability, public engagement, art gallery design etc. Some of what I've researched are the MVRDV Architects, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art.
Any suggestions?

| Why not try the 'clore gallery' or 'tate modern extension'. We have done some work on these in the UK, so there's a lot of info out there. |
