The BETA for the AutodesSys program -- bonzai3D -- is out.
http://www.bonzai3d.com/
AutodesSys are the guys that make form•Z, of which at least a few PowerCADD folk use for their 3D work.
If your interested --- press the GET BETA button at the above URL.
You'll be asked to fill out a one page form.
Then they'll send you the link for the download page.
For those who own or use form•Z, you'll find the interface familiar in many ways. The program has many of the same tools as in form•Z.
I'm using one major version back of form•Z, I think around 5.5.
After poking around the program for about 10 minutes, the main differences I noticed were a two row tool bar across the top, and no animation.
There is also a SCENE palette.
I haven't fired up my form•Z in awhile, but I don't remember any type of SCENE palette.
Can't find any dimension tools. (AutodesSys said this is coming in form•Z ver. 7 on the 3D side)
Haven't spotted any dedicated 2D mode as in form•Z.
Instead of a Prompts window or palette, there is an INPUT palette.
You can set this to 3D, 3D Delta, Surface, or Surface Delta.
It has stair tools, roof tool, and topo (terain) tool.
Booleans, reshape such as twist and buldge.
Anyway --- time to play a little before calling it a day. |
